Enzyme recovery
For the process of enzyme recovery the OptiVue system improves control and stability of notoriously difficult process steps, such as decanters and continuous-flow centrifuges by analyzing solids-content, sedimentation speed and flocculation properties. This allows for optimal formulation of the batch on start-up, increased control of the separation process while processing the batch and reduction in overall processing time.

Food ingredient manufacturing
To be competitive in the food-processing market as a manufacturer of additives such as antioxidants, colours, emulsifiers, stabilisers, gelling agents, thickeners and sweeteners, you need to be in control of your manufacturing processes. The more control you have over product quality and yield rates, the more control you have of your business!
With short batch-processing times and high intensity culture conditions it is critical to monitor the concentration and composition of impurities in order to maximize yield on every batch. The OptiVue system provides a new level of detail and accuracy for on-line monitoring of your process. |
Dairy & Beverage
A lot of the challenges associated with keeping product quality in check in the dairy and beverage industry still leaves room for improvement. Overall sales in this industry are highly price-sensitive and price is, among other factors, derived from cost of manufacture. With the OptiVue system it is possible to analyze considerable sample volumes thanks to our patented flowcell and the analysis can be repeated to establish a measure of process tolerances, which translates into improved control of product quality, fewer errors and a lower cost of manufacture.

Sludge dewatering
The treatment of wastewater often relies on decanter centrifuges to separate the sludge from the liquid. Adding polymeric flocculants makes it easier to control the separation process, however it is an expensive commodity and dosage is often too high because the difficulty involved in measuring the outcome accurately. With the OptiVue system polymer dosage can be optimized and the decanter centrate closely monitored to ensure compliance with regional regulations.
The OptiVue system is also a convenient tool when commissioning new facilities as the wastewater discharges needs to be documented for final approval. |
Ballast water analysis
All ships in international traffic are required to manage their ballast water and sediments to a certain standard, according to a ship-specific ballast water management plan. Ships are also required to carry a ballast water record book and an international ballast water management certificate.
A lot of ships are already installing on-board ballast water treatment systems but there is currently no way of ensuring the quality or composition of the ballast water, as it is pumped back into the ocean. The OptiVue platform is an ideal way of sampling and analyzing the treated ballast water and Proxy is currently working with partners to combine the latest technologies of digital imaging and optical analysis with algorithms that can document the composition and contents of the ballast water to satisfy the control requirements of the current convention. |
